DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP
Istanbul Studies Center at Kadir Has University invites applications for a nine-month Doctoral Fellowship starting in the Fall Semester of 2021 - 2022 academic year. We are interested in proposals that involve comparative perspectives and methods of understanding the city in general, and Istanbul in particular.
Istanbul Studies Center (ISC) is an interdisciplinary forum for innovative research on socio-economic, political, and cultural processes in world cities, with a focus on Istanbul. The main goal of the ISC is to encourage research on Istanbul, a world city in rapid change.
The Center provides to the fellows affiliation, working space*, access to library and other resources of the university while conducting their research in Istanbul, in the stimulating environment of Kadir Has University, located in the historical peninsula with a rich cultural and artistic constellation of institutions nearby.
During their residency the fellows are expected to participate in ISC’s Graduate Fellows Symposium and contribute to ISC’s public lectures.
The applicants should send a cover letter, full academic CV, transcript, dissertation research proposal (not more than 8 pages single space), and two letters of recommendation. The applicants should be ABDs (All but Dissertation) and/or carrying out their fieldwork/research.

* Access to the university campus was temporarily suspended within the scope of Covid -19 measures. When the conditions return to normal, the ISC working space will be available.
